Holding Space for Nelson's Creatives

Our Mission

Nelson Community Land Trust Society (NCLT) exists to bring land and buildings in and around Nelson, BC into community ownership and long-term stewardship, creating affordable space for artists, entrepreneurs, and community organisations.

What we’re doing

We put this mission into practice through two current projects:

  • 606 Arts Space — holding a five-year lease for the former Kootenay School of the Arts building and supporting its transition into a shared arts, culture, education, and community space.
  • The Jam Factory — working to bring a heritage industrial building into community ownership as a studio and co-working space for Nelson’s creative community.
