The Nelson Community Land Trust is Incorporated

We are pleased to announce that the Nelson Community Land Trust is now officially incorporated as a society in British Columbia.
Our constitution sets out the following purposes:
- To acquire, manage, and steward land and buildings in Nelson, British Columbia and area, in order to support local artistic and entrepreneurial community endeavours.
- To provide affordable spaces for artists, entrepreneurs, and community organisations, including but not limited to coworking spaces, maker spaces, and artists’ studios.
- To foster creativity, innovation, and collaboration within the Nelson community.
- To preserve and enhance community assets for long-term sustainability.
- To promote community ownership, engagement and participation in local land and building development.
- To support and further the cause of decolonization, acknowledging that this land is the traditional unceded territory of the Ktunaxa Nation, Sinixt Nation, and Syilx Peoples.
- To carry out other activities that support the above purposes.
The founding directors are Natasha Carolan, Blaine Cook, Rik Logtenberg, Cameron Wenaus, and Anna Wynne.
