Blaine Cook

Blaine is a BC born-and-raised software engineer based in Nelson and the Slocan Valley. He served as Twitter’s original lead developer, helping design and scale the platform from launch in 2006 to a global service, and created the foundational internet security standard, OAuth.

He founded Poetica, a writing collaboration startup that was acquired by Condé Nast, and now works for New_ Public as the Principal Engineer for Roundabout, a healthy digital public space for local communities.

In addition to his work on the NCLT, he sits on the boards of both the Red Mountain Residents’ Association and is a founding member of the Red Mountain and Enterprise Creek Emergency Preparedness Society (REEPS).
